Francis Eugene Endsley, age 93, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Danbury of Mount Vernon.
He was born on July 10, 1932, in Coshocton, Ohio, the son of Charlie and Vada (Reed) Endsley.
Francis was a 1951 graduate of Pleasant City High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable service, Francis dedicated 25 years of employment to Columbia Gas in Mount Vernon, retiring in 1995.
He was a longtime member of Mount Zion Lodge #9 F&AM. In his free time, Francis enjoyed golfing and hunting, hobbies that brought him both relaxation and camaraderie throughout the years.
Francis will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his devotion to his country, and the quiet enjoyment he found outdoors. His legacy of dedication and service will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his three grandchildren, Krista (Rick) Burson of Mount Vernon, Chad (Jennifer) Adams of Butler, and Taylor (Michael) Topp of Lima, a great-granddaughter, Megan Adams, and a son-in-law, John Adams of Bellville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Endsley, two daughters, Mona Adams, and Kathy Martin, two sisters, Irene Schodorf and Ruth Mullet.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Masonic service will begin at 2 p.m.
Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
