Grace Marie Buckland, age 91, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.
She was born on January 6, 1935, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Stanley and Velma (Belt) Williams. Grace was a graduate of Butler High School and dedicated many years of service working at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center.
Grace was a faithful member of the Grace Brethren Church in Ankenytown. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing, but nothing meant more to her than the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who cared deeply for those she loved.
Grace’s kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Eugenia (Jamie) Etherton of Houston, Texas, Park (Sylvia) Blair of Bellville, Texas, Paul (Tricia) Brown of Fredericktown, and Perry (Kandy) Brown of Cornelius, North Carolina, twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Buckland, two brothers, Neilan Williams, and Billie Williams, three sisters, Betty Hammond, and Clara Mae Williams.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, beginning at 2 pm at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where friends may call from 1 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow in North Liberty Cemetery.
