C. Lloyd Henthorn, age 91, of Mount Vernon went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on November 8, 1934, in Athens County, Ohio to the late Cletice and Lucy Marie (Dixon) Henthorn. He was a barber at the Vine Street Barbor Shop for over 45 years. Lloyd was a member of the New Life Church of the Nazarene here in Mount Vernon and was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force in the Korean War. He enjoyed giving to anyone that was in need and never met a stranger. Lloyd also enjoyed garage sales, finding things to fix, and going around the neighborhood to talk to everyone and was always friendly. Besides being a devout Christian, Lloyd loved his family and would often say to them “I Love You”.
He is survived by his wife, of over 63 years, Diana (Llewellyn) Henthorn; his son Lee (Cathy) Henthorn; his daughters Debora (Dale) Creager, Sonia Alexander; five grandchildren, Lindsey (Justin) Stillion, Erica Vinson, Kyle (Tosha) Henthorn, Trent (Destiny) Creager, Katelyn (Matthew) O’Hara; six great grandchildren, Adelyn, Aaliyah, Maverick, Keegan, Bonnie, and Scarlett; and his brother Garland Henthorn.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his brothers Gail Henthorn and Dean Henthorn.
Friends may call on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. A service will be held on Tuesday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Troy McNichols and Pastor Tom Duncan officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
