MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Career Center’s JROTC held its 11th annual Raider Competition on Oct. 11 at Ariel-Foundation Park. The event featured 13 schools and 25 teams from across two states.

The champion of the competition was Beavercreek High School’s A team, followed by Green High School’s A team. Beavercreek High School’s B team rounded out the top three.

KCCC’s A team finished in fourth place, and the KCCC B team finished 10th overall.

“This year’s competition was once again a tremendous success. We were thrilled to
welcome students from across Ohio, along with a dedicated team from Pennsylvania,” KCCC’s Col. Chris Salvucci said.

“The event offers a physically demanding environment that challenges young cadets and fosters personal growth. Through the experience, they learn to push beyond their perceived physical limits, work cohesively as a team, and demonstrate leadership and encouragement when it matters most.”

He added, “It’s in this setting that we help shape today’s youth into tomorrow’s responsible citizens, ready to lead their country. I find it incredibly rewarding to provide this opportunity for growth–and even more inspiring to witness it unfold in real time.”
