Leona May Huggins, 88, of Mount Vernon (formerly of Fredericktown) passed away on September 19, 2025, at The Ohio Eastern Star Home, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 25, 1937, to Thomas and Gladys (Swank) Grubaugh in Mount Vernon, OH.
Leona was a member of the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren in Ankenytown, OH. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Leona loved spending time and taking care of her family.
Leona is survived by her children Jim Huggins of Orlando, FL, Diane (Art) Prosser of Fredericktown, OH; grandson Corey (Felica) Prosser of Fredericktown, OH; great granddaughters Hannah and Kinsley; a sister Mable (Bill) Morton of Mount Vernon, OH; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband Donald Huggins, her parents Tom and Gladys Grubaugh, brothers Tom and Robert Grubaugh and a sister Martha Nugent.
The family would like to say a very big thank you to The Ohio Eastern Star Home staff for their care of Leona these last 3 years.
The family will be observing private graveside services at Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown, OH.
