Harry Gene Hatten, age 101, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the County Club Nursing Home in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He was born on March 15, 1924, in Wayne County, West Virginia, to the late Harry Lee and Tilda Mae (Osborne) Hatten.

Harry graduated from Buffalo High School in West Virginia, in 1942. He was an Iron Worker and was part of Local 17 in Cleveland, Ohio. Harry was also a painter, singer and songwriter as well. He attended Willow Grove Advent Church in Mt. Liberty. Harry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spreading the word of Jesus and would sing to people all around the world about him. His greatest joy was being around his loving family.

He is survived by his daughter, Anagene (Bill) Loebick; grandchildren, Benjamin William (Codruta) Loebick, Celina Marann (Hector) Santana, Karla Gene (Brian Royal) Loebick; great-grandchildren, Claudia Loebick; step-great-grandchildren, MJ, Jack, and Savena Royal; sisters, JoAnne Hunt and Floetta (Darrell) Hall.

Along with his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Annalee (Lycans) Hatten; brothers, James Lee Hatten, William Henry Hatten, Lory Bea Hatten; and sister, Roma Gail Billups.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10 AM until the time of funeral service starting at 11 AM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery in Centerburg, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Willow Grove Advent Christian Church; 7192 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.
