DANVILLE — Community support is a phrase very familiar to those associated with the Danville Athletic Department.
Such was the case when a total of $8,000 was recently donated to the department.
Rich Loney, 200 Club representative, presented a check to athletic director Jill Lyons, toward the purchase of new mats for the high school gymnasium.
Lyons said the department is grateful for the donations.
“We thank the 200 Club for their efforts to support all the athletic programs at Danville over the years,” Lyons said.
Loney also presented a $4,000 check to Lanna Staats with the Athletic Boosters and Charlie Duncan representing the Danville softball program which will go to the DARCI Field retaining wall project.
