While a traditional hip replacement involves an 8 to 12-inch incision on the side or back of your leg, the Anterior (front) Procedure uses a 3 to 6-inch (smaller) incision on the front of your leg. The incision offers an optimized view of the hip during the procedure, which is often a same-day surgery rather than a hospital stay, often with quicker and improved recovery.
