MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Leadership Knox Class of 2025 and the Junior Fair Board, is proud to announce plans to renovate one of the restroom facilities at the Knox County Fairgrounds.

The facility is located at 601 Fairgrounds Road, Mount Vernon, and will be renovated ahead of the 2025 fair season in July.

The renovation project aims to enhance the experience of fairgoers and participants from 4-H, FFA, Grange, Scouts, and Cloverbuds, who extensively use the facilities during the annual fair.

“The Knox County Fair is more than appealing grandstand events, iconic fair food, and distinctive rides. The junior fair portion showcases the hard work of over 1,400 4-H members, over 100 adult volunteers, and over a million dollars of support from local businesses,” said Christine Keaton, project chair for the Leadership Knox Class of 2025.

“It is because of that indelible impact on the future of Knox County youth that a subcommittee from Leadership Knox 2025 researched potential project needs. After a multi-month process of meetings and physical visits, it was determined that the 4-H bathroom facility in the heart of the junior fair buildings would be refurbished for the 2025 Knox County Fair.”
