Tim McLaughlin, age 71, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 23, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Edwin and Ada (Baker) McLaughlin. Tim devoted over thirty years of his life as a manager and district manager with Quality Farm & Fleet, Tractor Supply, Family Farm & Home, and as a sales rep with Husqvarna. He loved life’s simple pleasures—gathering with friends and family around a poker table, casting a line on the Pee Dee and Waccamaw rivers, tinkering in his garage, and sharing laughter with the people he loved most.
He was a man defined by quiet strength and unwavering devotion. Whether putting in long hours at work or lending a hand to a neighbor, he carried himself with kindness and humility. His dedication to family, his tireless work ethic, and his playful spirit will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Denise (Shalosky) McLaughlin; his three sons, Mat (Kelly) McLaughlin, Justin McLaughlin, and Michael (Emily) McLaughlin; two grandchildren, Juniper and Edward McLaughlin; brother, Shawn (Tena) McLaughlin, and sister, Colleen (Loren) Fresh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Bruce.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon.
