Mount Vernon – Martha J. (Piar) Neighbarger, 83, passed away on May 29, 2025 at Danbury of Mount Vernon.
Martha was born at home on the farm on May 25, 1942. She was one of six children of Herman and Catherine Lucy (Durbin) Piar, who preceded her in death along with siblings, Joseph E. Piar, Albert “Jim” Piar, and Sister Mary Ellen Piar.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; children, Larry (Judy) Williams of Mount Vernon, Laura (John) Moore; of Newark, and Sandy (Dan) Kollar of Fredericktown; step son, Brian Neighbarger; grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Cockrell, Ashley (Trent) Gilmore, Justin (Haelea) Kollar, Jeanne Moore, and Rylee Neighbarger; four great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Nancy) Piar, and sister, Margaret Piar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville, where Martha was a long time and active member, on Tuesday June 3 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 4-7:00.
