Julie Lynn Cockrell, age 62, of Fredericktown gained her wings to be able to fly home with the Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 11, 1963, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Robert and Beverly (Vian) Lewis.
Julie enjoyed her family cookouts, camping, Sprint Car racing, Lawn Mower racing and feeding all of the racers. She was the “Momma”. She enjoyed listening to George Jones and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. But most of all she loved her husband Bob. He was her world. And she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Julie is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Cockrell; four daughters, Tamara (Jason) Wood, Angela (Matt) Williams, Melissa (Roger Warner) Oakes, Michelle (Jade) Burwell; Desire Cockrell; her sister Peggy (Ed) Smith; her brother Frank Lewis; her stepsisters Roberta Harwell, Tonya Kent, Teri Brenkus, Tassi Davis; her stepbrother Todd McKenzie; her brother-in-law Ron Carruthers; fourteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her great-grandchild Caleb McGregor; her sister Pamela Carruthers; and her niece Heather Smith.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home (619 East High St. Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050) from 5:00 – 7:00pm. A service will be held on Friday, beginning at 11:00am, with Pastor Michael Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
