RILEY TOWNSHIP – A Bloomville man was uninjured after an airplane crash in Riley Township, the Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported on Sunday afternoon.
Zachary T. Haskins, 41, the pilot, was attempting to take off from Gibbs Aviation when the incident occurred, the Patrol reported.
The crash took place on County Road 259, just west of County Road 232 in Sandusky County. The airplane came to final rest just north of County Road 259.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Clyde Fire Department, Ballville Fire Department, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
