MOUNT VERNON—Knox Community Hospital invites the community to attend the Annual Cancer Survivor Events on Wednesday, June 11, to celebrate local cancer survivors.

This free event will be held at the Glenn A. Gallagher Centre community room; doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program and speakers begin at 6 p.m.

The American Cancer Society defines a cancer survivor as “anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, no matter where they are in the course of their disease.”

The “Hope Grows Here” theme continues as survivors often find that hope and positivity are key to their health. Speakers Dr. Steven Reitz, a general surgeon, and Stacy Bartok, a cancer survivor, will share their cancer insights and experiences.

A proclamation from Mayor Matt Starr’s office will kick off the event. The evening includes a dinner, door prizes, and a professional photographer.

Cancer survivors and their guests are encouraged to attend. The KCH Building Services staff will provide valet parking for all cancer survivors. Join us for this special evening to celebrate cancer awareness, survivorship, and prevention.

RSVP is required by June 4. To register, call 740.393.9621 or follow the link https://shorturl.at/IboM3.
