MOUNT VERNON — The OSU Alumni Club of Knox County has awarded $15,000 in scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year.

Scholarship recipients are Christopher Hawthorne, Olivia Griffith, Ainsley Bonaudi, Kennedy Auker, Macie Mandillo, Oliver Griffith and Caiden Moody.

Christopher Hawthorne received the club’s “Big Ten Thousand” award. He is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and will major in Engineering/Physics.

Other recipients are Olivia Griffith, a graduate of Centerburg High School and a Pre-Mechanical Engineering major; Ainsley Bonaudi, a Mount Vernon High School graduate and an Environmental Policy and Decision Making major; Kennedy Auker, a Mount Vernon High School graduate and Sustainable Agriculture major.

Current students receiving awards are Macie Mondillo, Hannah Hofferberth, Oliver Griffith, and Caiden Moody.

The awards are merit based and awarded to students graduating from a Knox County school or living in Knox County.

2025 Scholarship Recipients

Entering Freshman Awardees:

  • Christopher Hawthorne – “Big 10” Thousand Award, Mount Vernon High School, Major – Engineering/Physics.
  • Olivia Griffith – Cyndy Bonsignore Memorial Award, Centerburg High School, Major – Pre-Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ainsley Bonaudi – Dean Spearman Memorial Award, Mount Vernon High School, Major – Environmental Policy and Decision Making.
  • Kennedy Auker – William Gillogly Memorial Award, Mount Vernon HS/Knox Co Career Ctr. Major – Sustainable Agriculture.

Upper Class Awardees

  • Macie Mondillo – Environment, Economy, Dev. & Sustainability.
  • Hannah Hofferberth – Computer Engineering.
  • Oliver Griffith – Economics, Pre-law.
  • Caiden Moody – Neuroscience.

For the 2025-26 school year The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Knox County is awarding $15,000 in scholarship money to outstanding incoming Ohio State students from Knox County.

The judging panel was comprised of Knox County OSU Alumni considered the following criteria: academic performance, leadership qualities, extracurricular activities, honors, volunteer service and educational plans.

“Our club has been assisting students for many years using locally raised funds. We remain committed to student recruitment, scholarship initiatives, cultural programs and community services,” the organization stated in a press release.
