MOUNT VERNON — Knox Community Hospital is partnering with Safe Kids Worldwide to host a free drive-up car seat check on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Wright Family Medical Pavilion main parking lot.

Checking seats is crucial because it ensures proper installation and use, significantly reducing the risk of serious injury or death in a crash.

Certified technicians offer hands-on assistance for the proper installation of seats. They can identify potential issues, such as incorrect installation or incorrect use of the harness, buckle, and other safety features on the car seat.

KCH technicians can spot potential problems like a loose base, a seat that is too big or small for the child, or a harness that is not adjusted correctly.

Feel free to bring multiple car seats; there are no limitations. This drive-up event typically takes around 30 minutes per car and is designed to ensure the seat is installed correctly.
