MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Republican Party will host its annual Lincoln-Reagan Day dinner on May 16 at The Gallagher Centre.
Vivek Ramaswamy, candidate for governor of Ohio, will deliver the keynote address. Other state and national officials, including Congressman Troy Balderson, will attend and make remarks.
“We are very pleased to bring Vivek Ramaswamy back to Knox County,” notes Fred Dailey, Knox County GOP chairman.
Ramaswamy gained national attention as a presidential candidate in the 2024 primary, where he came in fourth in the Iowa Caucuses. Later, he co-chaired the DOGE effort with Elon Musk before deciding to run for governor. Both President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance have endorsed him.
Ramaswamy graduated from St. Xavier High School, a Catholic school in Cincinnati, and earned degrees from Harvard and Yale Law School. He made his mark in business as the founder of Roivant Sciences, a biopharmaceutical company.
He strongly advocates free speech, capitalism, and American identity. A frequent commentator on national news networks, he often speaks on the importance of free markets, limited government, and individual freedoms.
“Vivek Ramaswamy has a rock-star status among conservatives and leads this race in every poll,” notes Dailey. “We expect this event to be a sell-out.”
