FREDERICKTOWN — Fredericktown FFA recently sent out four members to participate in the county public speaking contest.

For the Creed contest new members must memorize the FFA creed and recite it in front of two judges and answer oral questions.

For extemporaneous public speaking members showcase their agricultural knowledge and ability to think their feet, participants draw from 18 topics and have a preparation period of 30 minutes to prepare using five resources then answer oral questions.

Finally for advanced prepared public speaking, the member must write a speech about a current topic revolving around agriculture, the member must memorize the speech and must be able to recite it to two judges then answer oral questions.

In the Knox County Contest Izzy Broerman got 4th overall and Austin Robinson took 5th place.

In the Extemporaneous contest Allissya Dugan got 2nd place. Austin Frazier was the 1st place winner for prepared speech.

Izzy went on to compete in the district creed contest where she placed 9th overall. Allissya placed 8th in the district extemporaneous contest. Austin placed 4th overall in District 7.
