Robert A. Rine, age 65, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his residence after struggling for the last couple of years with cancer. He was born on February 8, 1960, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of Walter Rine and Carole (Litzenberg) Sapp. Robert was a 1978 graduate of East Knox High School.

Bob enjoyed sports, from little league baseball to playing on Friday nights for the Bulldogs. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. Bob also enjoyed being outdoors and liked to hunt and fish and with the help of his good friend John Alberts, was able to get a deer this last year.

Upon graduation, Bob moved to Florida to find employment with several different concrete construction companies. He then moved to Texas where he worked with a handful of companies with his good friend Kristopher Hecht. Bob eventually moved back to Mount Vernon to live his best life, spending time with his family and good friends.

Bob is survived by his sister, Vicki (Arnold) McFadden of Howard, a brother, Marty (Julie) Sapp of Lebanon, Walter Sapp the father that raised him, nieces and nephews, Arnold (Sayza) McFadden III, Jessica (Jave) Deitz, Jeannette Rine, Michael (Zoe) Sapp, great nieces, Leila McFadden, Mala Lange, cousin, Laurie Miller of Alabama, good friends, Barth and Robin Coffing, John and Mary Jane Alberts and Bob McKenzie.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter “Buck” Rine.

The family will observe a private service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Robert A. Rine.
