Donald Eugene Vilfer, 79, of Mount Vernon passed away Monday evening, February 3, 2025. He was born on July 10, 1945 in Mount Vernon to the late Russell and Mary Opal (Litt) Vilfer.
Don honorably served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Police Officer for the City of Mount Vernon for over 20 years.
Don is survived by his son, Jamie Vilfer of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Athena and Savannah of Mount Vernon; a brother, Kevin Vilfer of Columbus; and his lifelong friend, Larry Hurlow of Mount Vernon.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Vilfer.
