Virginia Lee Parsons, age 83, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Country Court Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 5, 1942, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Charles H. and Charlotte (Archibald) Brenneman. Gin was a 1960 graduate of Jefferson High School and earned her nursing degree from the Mt. Sinai Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio.
Gin spent much of her nursing career providing care in ICU in the Sarasota, Florida area. She continued her education by earning a B.A. in Business Management and later became a certified Healthcare Risk Manager. Gin eventually retired from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield utilization review in 2000. She then moved to Hayesville, North Carolina, where she enjoyed her life in the mountains. In the fall of 2020, she moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio, to be near her family.
She is survived by her twin brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Patricia Brenneman of Mount Vernon, nieces and nephews, Charles and Kelly Brenneman, Jennifer and Dennis Miller, Douglas J. and Barbara Brenneman, Scott and Sheri Brenneman and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister, a brother, Perry Brenneman and a niece, Lisa Brenneman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Marvin Haught will be officiating.
Memorial contributions in Virginia’s name may be made to the Knox County Animal Shelter or the Humane Society of Knox County.
