Cheryl L. Thompson, 67 of Mount Vernon passed away on January 9, 2025 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on March 20, 1957 to Joseph and Odessa (Cagnon) Grennell in Mount Vernon, OH.
Cheryl was a former member of the Salvation Army and the Eagles in Mount Vernon, OH. She enjoyed reading, sewing and playing bingo. Cheryl’s favorite thing was spending time with her grandkids and family.
Cheryl is survived by her children Michelle Thompson of Mount Vernon, OH; Courtley (Derek) Johnson of Howard, OH and Nicole (Jarrod Phillips) Thompson of Mount Vernon, OH; grandchildren Brennan Varnes, Ethan Johnson, Addison Johnson and Braylon Phillips; stepmother Gerri Irving; siblings Kim Leonard, Butch Grennell, Joseph Grennell, Jody Grennell, Marcy Grennell, Mary O’Rourke, Millie Grennell; nieces Catrina Knight and Rebecca Knight and a nephew Brian Knight.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Michael Thompson, her parents, sisters Natalie Miller, Sissy Weir and Donna McClain.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Dowds – Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A funeral service will follow at 6:00pm.
