Kathlyn Ann Hawkins, 72, Gambier passed away at Knox Community Hospital, following a long battle with cancer. She was born on June 25, 1952 to Robert Neil and Janice Lucille (Cotton) Tier in Mount Vernon, OH.
Kathlyn was an excellent gardener. She enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers. She was a wonderful cook and she could figure anything out.
Kathlyn is survived by her long time companion Jim Balsley of Gambier, OH; her children Emily (Sarah Carpenter) McClain of Ashville, NC, Damon Kyle (Tara) Hawkins of Fredericktown, OH; grandchildren Rhett, Ridley and Dominic; brothers Bob (Debbi) Tier of Mount Vernon, OH; Tom (Alex Khokhlov) Tier of Myrtle Beach, SC and Eric Tier of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister-in-law Bonnie Louise Balsley of Edison, OH.
Kathlyn was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer.
