Katherine Clifton, 64, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 26, 1960 in Coshocton Ohio, to the late Willis and Mary (Martin) Lockard. Katherine has been married to her husband Joseph Clifton for 33 years. She always wanted a daughter but God graced her with four sons.
Katherine had several hobbies and one of her favorite adventures was going fishing. She had a keen eye for photography and you could often catch her outside taking photos of wildlife. An amazing artist she could draw or paint anything with great detail. None of those hobbies though could compare to her ability to cook from scratch.
One of her greatest passions involved cars. In her early years you could often find her at Pacemakers behind the wheel of her 68 Coronet. A true enthusiast of racing she loved her Mopar’s whether she was under the hood or in the drivers seat. Her knowledge of cars eventually led her to a job at Napa auto parts.
Katherine also loved animals with great affection. Her favorite animal will always be her beloved cats, and she had several feline companions over the years. She often put her cats ahead of herself.
Above all, Katherine was a devoted wife, a caring family member, and a beloved friend. Her warmth, kindness, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Other than her husband she is survived by her brother Chris Lockard; Children Tim Patterson, Mike (Amy) Patterson, Andrew (Shanna) Hart, Robert (Amber) Hart; Grandchildren Anna Patterson, Deakyn Patterson, Judah Patterson, Kaylee Hart, Dane Hart; Cats Duffy, BB.
Besides her parents, she was proceeded in death by her Brother Randy Lockard and a Sister Carol Lockard Dales.
A visitation to honor Katherine’s life will be held at Snyder Funeral Homes, Lasater Chapel, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to the Cozy Cat Cottage in Powell, Ohio.
