MANSFIELD — The future couldn’t be brighter for St. Peter’s Joy Kim.

The North Central Ohio Girls Golfer of the Year, Kim finished 13th at the Division II state tournament at Firestone’s Fazio Course. She carded a two-day total of 164, one stroke out away from All-Ohio honors.

Kim won medalist honors at the Valley View sectional with an 82 and was medalist runner-up at the Sycamore Springs district with a 76. She is the headliner on the five-player All-North Central Ohio girls golf team. Here’s a look at the rest of the unit:

Makaree Chapman, Lexington

A senior and Northern Kentucky softball signee, Chapman was the Ohio Cardinal Conference Player of the Year. She was the medalist at two of the three OCC tournaments and tied for medalist honors at the Division I Sycamore Springs sectional with a 78. Chapman finished eighth at the Stone Ridge district.

Elleni Miller, Ashland

A junior, Miller was the medalist at the first of three Ohio Cardinal Conference tournaments and finished as OCC Player of the Year runner-up to Lexington’s Makaree Chapman. Miller tied for seventh at the Division I Sycamore Springs sectional and tied for fifth at the Stone Ridge district to earn one of the two state qualifying bids. She finished 66th at state tournament with a two-day total of 204 at NCR Country Club in Kettering.

Kyah Huckleberry, Ashland

A senior, Huckleberry was an Ohio Cardinal Conference first-teamer and tied for fourth at the Division I Sycamore Springs sectional. Huckleberry finished ninth at the Stone Ridge district with an 87.

Brinlee Kreger, Ontario

A juniork Kreger earned a spot on the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference first team. She finished 10th at the Division I Sycamore Springs sectional with a 91 and tied for 45th at the Stone Ridge district.
