BELLVILLE — Siblings Trae Turner and Whitney Smith both live busy lives.

Turner is the chief of community living at the Area Agency on Aging Ohio District 5 and Smith is the owner of Bellville’s Rustik Market.

But singing allows the two to maintain a close relationship.

“That (music) component of our lives is really important to us,” Turner said. “Our faith is definitely an important aspect of our family and our values.”

Turner and Smith, of Bellville, grew up singing together locally in church. The brother and sister were also part of a southern gospel trio called New Vision, which stopped touring in 2016.

“Her and I started traveling again as kind of a duet,” Turner said. “We pretty much go out most weekends through the year, across Ohio and other states.”

Saturday at 6 p.m., the siblings will be performing close to home in Mansfield at the Impact Worship Center, 160 Woodruff Road.

The duo will be joined by GloryWay, a nationally-known Christian vocal group. Doors will open Saturday at 5 p.m. A $5 donation is suggested at the door.

Favorites from both groups will be performed. The event is expected to last a couple hours.

Siblings welcome all to evening of encouragement

The message of Turner and Smith’s music is one of encouragement.

For those who attend Saturday, expect inspiration and laughter, along with stories and testimonies.

“Through the music and the message, I think it will be very encouraging to people,” Turner said.

The siblings are also excited to share the stage again with GloryWay, who’s ministry has largely expanded in the past few years — frequently performing both locally and nationally.

Saturday’s vocalists aspire to provide a safe and welcoming environment for local residents to celebrate the upcoming New Year.

Families and area church groups are also encouraged to attend, Turner said.

“It’s a great opportunity to spend an evening together and come do something like this,” he said.
