Thomas W. Pruitt Sr., 65, of Gambier passed away on Thursday morning, November 7, 2024 at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on February 2, 1959 in Shelby to the late Richard and Ellen Louise (Hill) Pruitt.
Thomas graduated from Crestline High School in 1977 and then enlisted in the Army. He enjoyed being an auto mechanic specializing in rebuilding transmissions.
Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas (Amy) Pruitt Jr. of Gambier, Joash (Kelly) Pruitt of Gambier and Jenna (Eric) Burkert of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Miranda, Kiara, Madison, Preston, Michael, Jaylen, Neveah, Khylie, Kennedie and Konner; great grandchildren, Aiden, Camri and Kohen; a brother, Jason (Jamie) Pruitt of Westlawn, PA; step brothers, Joey (Jackie) Hubbard of Akron and Mickey (Lisa) Hubbard of Shelby; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by an infant son, Chad; his stepmother, Dee Pruitt; brothers, James “Jim”, David and William “Bill”; a sister, Linda; and his former wife, Carolyn Pruitt.
The family will have a celebration of life service at a later date.
