Jacqueline Sue Tharp, 74 of Newark passed away on November 5, 2024 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 29, 1950 in Columbus, OH to the late Jack D. and M. Sue (Rodenfels) Gibson.
Jackie was a beautician for over 50 years and was owner of Jackie’s Fashion Hideaway. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, solitaire, euchre and beating her husband Terry in cribbage. Most of all she loved her grandson, Maddox.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Terry Tharp; son, Michael (Tiffany Reeder) Tharp; daughter, Danette (Mitch) Conway; grandson, Maddox Conway; sister, Jill (Vic) Barrick; brother, Danny (Jean Cunningham) Gibson; brothers-in-law, Ted (Cheryl) Tharp, Tim (Vicki) Tharp and Steve (Sharen) Rauch; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and life long friends, Rodney and Sharlet Ellis, Dale and Debby Norton, Jerry and Suzie Fox and John and Sherry Torrens. The Rodenfels and Conway families were very dear to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday at Newark Memorial Gardens with Roger Conley officiating.
