Mark R. Vaughn, age 65, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on January 30, 1959, in Mount Gilead, Ohio, the son of Robert and Sue (Casto) Vaughn. Mark was a 1977 graduate of Fredericktown High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 1991.
Mark worked for Knox Transit most recently, but also worked for Burrows Packaging in Mount Vernon. He was a member of Amvets Post #95 and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. Mark enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, sudoku, and studying history. He was also a critic and food connoisseur.
He is survived by his parents, his daughter, Jessica (Chad) Fawcett of Mount Vernon, two brothers, Jeff (Tina McFadin) Vaughn of Rockwall, Texas, Joseph (Tami) Vaughn of Fredericktown, a nephew, Phillip Vaughn, two nieces, Cassandra (Matthew) Jackson, Hannah Vaughn, and canine companion, Annie.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, beginning at 12 pm at Christ the King Church, 15598 McClelland Road, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019 where friends may call from 11 am until the time of service. Pastor Lucian Baker will be officiating, and military honors will be provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
Memorial contributions in Mark’s name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Tunnel to Towers. Friends are asked to wear your favorite Cleveland Browns or Ohio State Buckeye gear.
