Larry S. Kemmer, age 77, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, after a brief illness at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on March 14, 1947, in Hudson, Ohio, the son of Donald Kemmer Jr. and Margaret (King) Rummel. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Hudson High School and proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Saratoga during the Vietnam Conflict.
Larry worked for Coyne Printing in Mount Vernon before opening and operating Larry’s Camera Repair. Larry was a man of many talents as he enjoyed photography and capturing natures beauty, and he also liked working on and restoring classic cars and hot rods. He was also a huge fan of the NASCAR auto series. Larry was a member of Amvets Post #95 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Mount Vernon.
He is survived by his wife Susan (Kerr) Kemmer, a daughter, Holly (Matthew) Kemmer Muster, and a sister, Vicki Kemmer.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Deb Roy and a brother, Lewis Rummel Jr.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. Military honors will be observed at 6 p.m. provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
