Greta M. Banbury, 92, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on February 15, 1932 in Mount Vernon to the late Howard Baker and Margaret (Adams) Baker
Greta was a member of the Saint John the Baptist Parish attending Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. She was also a member of the Colonial Women of the Moose Chapter #100.
Greta is survived by her sons, Michael (Kathy) Banbury of Fredericktown and Stephen (Anna) Banbury of Mount Vernon; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sister, Janet Rehling of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parent, Greta was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Banbury; brothers, James H. Baker and Rev. Robert Baker; and her longtime companion, Charles Durbin
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 12 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lasater Chapel 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd., Mount Vernon with Mr. Roger Marra officiating. Inurnment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
