MOUNT VERNON — A cement truck from Ellis Brothers overturned on Tuesday while delivering concrete to Heartland Commerce Park.
According to the Mount Vernon Police Department report, the truck traveled northbound on the dirt road construction site at 525 W. Chestnut St.
After coming to a stop, the ground gave way underneath the truck’s weight. The truck sank into an underground drainage system, damaging the pipe.
The truck overturned on its right side before coming to a final rest.
The Mount Vernon Fire Department transported the driver to Knox Community Hospital with possible minor injuries.
