Letter to the Editor in purple lettering on envelope

Dear Editor,

I am a college student getting ready to vote for the first time in an Ohio election.

Naturally, I am eager to learn as much as I can about the candidates to make informed decisions that align with my values and beliefs.

Recently, I discovered that our Congressman, Troy Balderson, has declined to participate in a debate with his opponent.

This is disappointing, as a debate would have provided a valuable opportunity for voters like me to understand the nuances of the candidates’ policies and approaches.

It’s puzzling how a sitting Congressman can turn down such a chance, even after being offered a venue (Denison) and being approached in person by his challenger, Jerrad Christian.

As a young voter, I can confirm that this refusal to debate sends a discouraging message to my generation.

I urge Congressman Balderson to rethink his decision and encourage others to voice their concerns by sending an email to info@baldersonforcongress.com

Sincerely,

Fiona Hendryx
