Linda Louise Vining of Mount Vernon, Ohio passed into the arms of the Lord on September 25, 2024, at the age of 71 after a valiant fight with breast cancer. She was born on October 24, 1952, in Portsmouth, Virginia to Donald David Renicky, CDR US Navy Ret. and Florence Renicky (née Reedy).

The sum of Linda’s accomplishments in one lifetime is astonishing to consider, yet she tackled every undertaking with grace, intelligence, diligence and wit. After obtaining her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law, she practiced finance law for 22 years at many prestigious financial institutions. A priority shift at 56 years old sent her back to school, pursuing a career in Respiratory Therapy, serving the Knox County community for 12 years. Throughout both her benchmark professions, she was an endlessly talented musician, mastering multiple instruments and performing folk music across the country with her husband John as “The Vinings.” The duo released two studio albums and produced the Muskingum Valley River Tour for the Zanesville bicentennial. Locally, many would have first come to know her voice during her years as a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church choir. Together, Linda and John founded Pearl Springs Farms, where they raised Arabian horses and she perfected her passion for fiber arts through her flock of Shetland sheep. Though, in this storied life, Linda’s two greatest accomplishments remain her daughters.

Linda is survived by her husband John, her daughters Elizabeth Brandon (Joshua) and Grace Sullivan (Eric), her brother Don Andrew Renicky, and her mother Florence Renicky. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald D. Renicky.
