Mary Lou (Riffle) Haignere age 92, of Mount Vernon (formally Columbus) passed away on day September 24, 2024 surrounded by her family. Mary was born on March 26, 1932 in Vinton County, OH, daughter of the late George Nicholas and Carrie Marie (Norton) Riffle.
Mary retired from Sears many years ago. She was a fun, loving, and kind soul. The thing Mary enjoyed most in life was her family. She was best known to those closest to her as Grammy and she adored each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children, Vennetta (Stover) Starr, Lorraine Loux; her Grandchildren, Mary Jane Alberts, Jeremy Burke, Andrew Burke, and John Preston Haignere; Great Grandchildren Troy, Logan, Cole, and Ivy; Daughter-In-Law Lesley Haignere; niece Deanna Milburn, Cara Butterworth; and nephew Merrill Riffle.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son, John Phillip Haignere, brothers, Kenneth, Gerald, Verlon, Elmer, and Merrill Riffle; sisters, Martha Jane Chestnut, Dollie Collins, and Anna Craig.
The family would like to thank the staff at MVHR for caring for Mary. A special thank you to Mary’s hospice nurse Julia, her kindness and support the last several months was a blessing.
The family will hold a graveside service at 11am on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Milford Center Cemetery, Milford Center, OH.
