Loretta May Bartkowiak,86, was welcomed into heaven September 11th, 2024 in her home in Mount Vernon, Ohio supported by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Iona (Knabenshue)Marks, siblings Donald Marks, Mary Della Marchman, Franklin Marks, John Marks, and Lera Novak, daughters Annette Mills and Barbara Smith.
She is survived by three children Marjorie (Robert) Coscia, Stanley Bartkowiak and Rebecca (Bob)Beatty. She is also survived by her sister Kayrell Wilkerson of Maryland, brothers Joe Marks of W.Va and Dave Marks of Fl. She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as her beloved nieces and nephews.
Loretta was a very involved grandparent and taught many in her family about arts and crafts. Loretta was well traveled after her birth in West Virginia. She worked many years in factory assembly. She worked in Data Card followed by TRW. She enjoyed spending time in the community playing bingo and skill games.
Loretta was very artistic and her legacy will live on in the paintings that she has created for her friends and family. Trophies were won with the Reel Women surf fishing team that included her sister Kayrell Wilkinson. She was in good humor in her final days, still spreading joy and laughter to her family. She cheered for the Wolverines unless they were playing against OSU, then she joined the family to cheer for her newest home state.
She overcame lung cancer and pneumonia many times, exuding strength and perseverance. Loretta wished for her remains to go back to West Virginia to be with her family. She had many conversations with Jesus and was watched over by her painting of Jesus in her passing. She will now be able to speak to Jesus face to face.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
