MOUNT VERNON – The Safety Service Department of the City of Mount Vernon announces a traffic pattern change on West Hamtramck Street for 90 days.
The change starts at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, until Wednesday, Dec. 11.
This change affects West Hamtramck Street between North Sandusky Street and North Main Street. While this change is under a temporary traffic change order executed by the safety-service director, the city administration will work with the City Council to make this a permanent traffic change.
With this traffic pattern change, these blocks of West Hamtramck Street will transition from a one-way street with some available street parking to a two-way street with no street parking permitted. This temporary traffic adjustment is necessary to accommodate the new residential traffic at “The Grad” located at 301 N. Mulberry as well as provide an additional measure to alleviate increased traffic on North Sandusky Street.
We understand that this change may cause temporary inconveniences, and we appreciate our residents’ and motorists’ cooperation and patience. The Safety Service Department is committed to ensuring the safety and smooth traffic flow during this growth and transition period.
Residents with concerns or questions regarding this traffic change are encouraged to contact the Safety Service Office at 740.393.9520 or via email at SafetyService@MountVernonOhio.org.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
