MOUNT VERNON – PAK United announces the annual HEROES softball tournament on Thursday, Sept. 19.
This year, games will be held at Memorial Park and the Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) softball field.
PAK United is proud to partner with Specialty Outdoor Services as the sponsor for this year’s event.
“Mike Prydja and Wendy Brown have been continual supporters of PAK United and our first responders. We can always rely on them to collaborate on events that bring together law enforcement, firefighters, and our community,” said a PAK United representative.
The tournament will kick off with the first pitch at 4:45 p.m. Memorial Park will host two games. MVNU’s softball field on Newark Road will host the other.
This bracketed tournament features five teams playing seven games total. The tournament culminates in the championship game at 7:45 p.m. at MVNU.
PAK United encourages the community to come out and enjoy an evening of fun alongside the Mount Vernon Police Department, Mount Vernon Fire Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
There will be family-friendly activities, games, and giveaways for children. Commemorative T-shirts will also be available for purchase.
PAK United extends a special thank you to Paul McNeal and Jeana Howald of MVNU Athletics for providing the softball field and to City Recreation Director Jeff Derr for arranging the use of Memorial Park’s fields.
