Jane Semerar, age 97, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 11, 1927, in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of Foy and Gertrude (James) Herendeen. Jane was a 1945 graduate of Fredericktown High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Society.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Smith of Jackson, Michigan, Scott Semerar of Tustin, California, and Stuart (Jenny) Semerar of Mount Vernon, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Semerar.
The family will observe a private graveside service at a later date in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown. The Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown is honored to serve the family of Jane Semerar.
