E. Marie McDonald, age 85, of Howard passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at her home with her loving family at her side.
She was born on December 4, 1938, in Gallia County, Ohio to the late Fred and Hattie (Huff) Phillips. Marie moved to Knox County, with her husband Charles, in 1972 from Grove City, Ohio. She enjoyed babysitting and helping friends and family whenever she could. But most of all, Marie loved the time she spent with her family.
Marie is survived by her daughters Sandra Blubaugh, Brenda (Robert) Buckingham; her son Charles (Robin) McDonald; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her brothers Bobby Phillips and Roy Phillips; her sisters Sally Sibley, Freda Hanna and Dorothy Lewis; and her canine companion Ollie.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband Charles McDonald; her brothers Freddie and Lawrence Phillips; and her sister Joyce Jones.
In keeping with Marie’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private graveside service in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
