David LeRoy Wyant, age 88, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Dave was born to Burr Alva and Winona (Vail) Wyant on March 10, 1936. He served in the Third Armored Division of the U.S. Army in Fort Knox Kentucky 1954-1956.
After leaving the Army he worked with his dad as an interior/exterior decorator for several years, then worked with a contractor in Lexington, Ohio until his retirement.
Dave enjoyed restoring, showing and driving Model A Fords, and belonged to Penn Ohio Model A Ford Club, Dixie Model A Ford Club and the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Dave is survived by the love of his life, Patricia Frost Wyant, his much loved children, Darcy (Jeff) Coggins, Tim Wyant, and Jennifer (Andy) Fox. Also his wonderful grandchildren, Candace (Marrio Woodard) Coggins, Corinna Coggins, Joel (Samantha) Coggins and Kaelyn Fox and great-grandchildren Haylee Cunningham, Wyatt Cunningham and Cosette Coggins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Belinda and brother-in-law Bill Banner, and his grandson Levi Cunningham.
There will be a graveside service held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30th at St. John’s Cemetery, Martinsburg Rd. Mount Vernon.
