Bonnie May Meekins, 82, of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, August 11, 2024 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on February 11, 1942 in Fredericktown to the late John and Dorothy (Grubaugh) Belton.
Bonnie loved life and was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed adult coloring and spending time with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Dennis Meekins, whom she married on April 11, 1964 ; daughters, Denise (Jeff Oliver) Wells and Karen (Victor Karen) Riddle; sons, Kenneth and Keith Meekins; grandchildren, Alexis (Erick Gutierrez) Wells, Joe (Fatima) Riddle and Seth Riddle; grandchildren, Katelyn Riddle, Scarlet Riddle, Allison Soto and Marjorie Soto; sisters, Dorothea and Donna; her brother Bill; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a nephew, David Belton.
The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Flowers Chapel, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon with Mr. John Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
