Carol M. Shupe, 82, of Howard, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 in Wesley Chapel, Florida following a brief courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 18, 1942 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Irvin and Maude (Hess) Miller.
Carol was a 1960 graduate of Fredericktown High School. She studied Microbiology at The Ohio State University and graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in the class of 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Carol worked at Alcoa as a Customer Service Representative and was very proud to be a member of the “25 Year Club”. She retired from Alcoa in 2009. Throughout her career Carol made a special group of friends and together they enjoyed golfing, ski trips and gathering to play cards. Carol loved her garage sales and antiques and even owned two antique shops with her husband Fred.
Carol is survived by her children, Coleen Titus, Gregory Day and Jennifer Day;
She was very proud of her seven grandchildren; Charles, (Maria) Reilly, Gregory, Rachael, Reese, Ethan and Noah. She loved holding her great grandson, Leo; and she loved her sisters, Anita Earlywine (Jim) and Dixie Boucher.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband,
Frederic Shupe in March of 2015. Together they enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and antiquing.
The family will have a public service in the mausoleum at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Immediately following the service the family would like to invite Carol’s friends and family to Troyer’s of Apple Valley to a celebration of her life at 2:00pm-4:00pm to share memories, stories and a meal.
