MOUNT VERNON — Ohio Truck Equipment is the newest member of Heartland Commerce Park. The company is a subsidiary of Robertson Truck Group.
Robertson Truck Group, located on Columbus Road, bought HCP’s 101,236-square-foot Plant 4 in June for $2.1 million.
Ohio Truck Equipment is Robertson’s fabrication facility. Expanding to Heartland Commerce Park enables the company to introduce a new line of truck bed manufacturing and enhance its existing custom truck assembly and sales operations.
Jeff Gottke, president of the Knox County Land Bank and Area Development Foundation, said he is thrilled to welcome the Robertson group and Ohio Truck Equipment to the commerce park.
“Their expansion and the introduction of Ohio Truck Equipment represents a significant milestone for our community,” he said.
“They have been an excellent community partner for many years, and their continued loyalty and investment in Mount Vernon will undoubtedly contribute to the area’s prosperity.”
Gottke said the company has a long-standing commitment to Mount Vernon, “investing in the community they proudly call home.”
“The company’s decision to expand in Mount Vernon underscores its belief in the area’s potential and its dedication to contributing to local economic growth,” he said.
According to Gottke, the new product line will create new job opportunities and further diversify Knox County’s industrial landscape.
The company plans to hire additional local employees, providing competitive wages and fostering economic development.
Ohio Truck Equipment is 6th tenant in HCP
Gottke emphasized the significance of supporting businesses that are deeply rooted in the community.
He noted that the land bank and ADF recognize the strategic advantage of diversifying operations at Heartland Commerce Park and investing in local companies.
The land bank has sold six buildings in the Heartland complex. Five remain on the market.
“Interest remains very strong,” Gottke said. “Most of the interest is coming from the manufacturing sector.
“Some interest is local, some is regional, and some is international.”
