FREDERICKTOWN — A summer thunderstorm rolled through the village around 4 p.m., but it didn’t deter residents from celebrating the Fourth of July at Fredericktown Community Park.
Although it interrupted softball games and swimming in Sockman Lake and shortened the lines at the food trucks, a few intrepid folks ventured onto the volleyball court. The rain didn’t appear to dampen their fun.
When the rain cleared, friends and neighbors returned to celebrating Independence Day. They fired up grills, listened to live music, played Bingo, and enjoyed a cruise-in.
A fireworks display rounded out the day’s activities.
