Paula Charlene (Hull) Veatch, born on December 29, 1945, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Paul and Clara Ruth (Rice) Hull, lost her fourteen-month battle with cancer on Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024.

Polly graduated from Howard High School in 1963. She married her high school sweetheart, Dale Veatch in August of that year. She spent many years as a homemaker before subbing and eventually working full-time in the East Knox cafeteria. Polly made many friends over the years through card clubs, bowling leagues, and basket collecting, but she most enjoyed going to the casino with her sisters and, the yearly vacation to Canada’s Rice Lake for some walleye fishing.

Polly was known for her dimples, her dark brown eyes, and her forthright opinions. She was frequently sarcastic and had a flare for how she worded things. Very few people were ever left to wonder what her opinion was. If she cared about you, you got the personal amplified version of her opinion, which was always intended for your benefit.

Polly leaves behind her husband of sixty plus years, her daughters and their husbands, Hollie and Larry Snow, and Heidi and Tim Norris as well as five grandchildren Heather (Bernie) van Niekerk, Dahlia (Isaiah) Papst, Zach Snow, Eli (Cierra) Norris and Alec (Kiana) Norris and two great grandchildren Rosalie and Lena. She also leaves three siblings and spouses Howard and Linda Hull, Deb and Roger Cooper and Brenda and Craig Frost as well as brother-in-law Eldon Frye and sister-in-law Bonnie Hull. Other family members remaining include numerous nieces and nephews as well.

Polly was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings Linda Frye, Chuck Hull, and Ruthann Myer. She was also preceded in death by her husband‘s three sisters and two of their spouses Sharon King, Irene and Kenny McMillan and Louise and Max Samples.
Polly‘s family is so grateful for the wonderful care provided by the KCH cancer team and would like to thank Hospice of North Central Ohio for their vigilant care in the last few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Polly’s name.

Her service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Norris barn at 21495 Zion Road, Gambier, Ohio 43022. A meal furnished by the women of Lifepoint Church will immediately follow the service at the same location.
