Mary Elizabeth Stout, age 96, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Country Club Rehabilitation Center in Mount Vernon. She was born on July 9, 1927, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of Homer and Bernice (Fleming) Rarick. Mary retired in 1989 from Licking Memorial Hospital where she worked as a registered nurse and finished as an employee health nurse.

Mary attended the Mount Vernon Baptist Temple and enjoyed camping, bowling, and sunbathing on the beach. She also liked to roller skate, and it was there that she met her future husband William Edward Stout. Mary also played the drums for Red Nickels and the Pennies, but most important was the quality time she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Patrick) Ault of Newark, Ohio, and Susan Finneran of Mount Vernon, Ohio, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Stout, a son, Mark Edward Stout, a daughter, Barbara Jo Stout, a brother, Wayne Rarick, sisters, Faye Wright, Lois Emory, and June Swingle.

The family will observe a private burial in Huber Ridge Cemetery in Blendon Township of Westerville. The Snyder Funeral Home, Lasater Chapel is honored to serve the family of Mary Elizabeth Stout.
