Robert Eugene Staats, 73 of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2024. Robert was born on February 7, 1951 to Robert L. and Martha E. (Hawk) Staats in Mount Vernon, OH.
Bob enjoyed riding motorcycles, tinkering in his garage, and spending time with his family. Bob would help anyone that needed a hand. He never met a stranger.
Bob is survived by his wife Florine (Rule) Staats; children Samantha (David) Freas of Walhonding, OH, Scott (Joleen) Staats of Mount Vernon, OH, Andrew Green of Mount Vernon, OH, Jessica Cunningham and Family of 6 of Mount Vernon, OH, Drew and (Rebecca) Boggs and family of 2 of Mount Vernon, OH; grand children Casey Staats, Tyler Freas, Dustin Staats, Mackenzie (Dustin) Howard, Michael Freas, Keana Holsinger; siblings Dianne Staats of Columbus, OH, William Staats of Howard, OH, Karen (Jason) Donel of Monroe, NC, Richard (Cheri) Staats of Jerome, ID, Jim Staats of Lawson, MO, Deborah Schoop of Newark, OH, John Staats of Ashland, OH, Benjamin (Beth) Staats of Mount Vernon, OH; a brother in law Michael (Amy) Rule of Mount Vernon, OH; a sister in law Sandra (Randy) Brook of Parkersburg, WV and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A celebration of life will take place July 6th at noon to 2 pm at Green Valley Baptist Church, 1680 Old Delaware Rd, Mt Vernon, OH 43050.
