MOUNT VERNON — Konner Daughriety repeated as an All-Ohioan and this time he had company.
The Ashland University-bound Daughriety earned a spot on the Division I first team for a second straight season when the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association unveiled its all-state team earlier this month.
He was joined by teammate Ezra Kurek, who was an honorable-mention selection.
The two-time reigning Ohio Cardinal Conference Player of the Year, Daughriety was selected at shortstop after leading the Yellow Jackets (20-5, 12-2) to an outright OCC crown in their final season in the conference before departing for the Licking County League next fall.
He batted .512 with 30 runs batted in, 13 doubles and six home runs. He had an on-base percentage of .576 and a slugging percentage of .915, good for an OPS of 1.491 — third among all Division I first-teamers.
A junior catcher, Kurek batted .364 with 22 RBIs. He belted eight doubles and scored 22 runs.
Centerburg’s Grayson Reynolds was a Division III All-Ohio first-team pick at shortstop. The senior batted .581 with 32 RBIs, seven doubles, two triples and two home runs. He stole 18 bases and scored 33 runs for the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference runner-up Trojans (14-9, 9-3).
East Knox’s Bryar Householder was a Division III second-team pick as a utility player after leading the Bulldogs (19-5, 10-2) to the KMAC title and a berth in the district tournament. The senior right-hander was 8-1 with a 0.89 earned run average and 107 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched. At the plate he batted .490 with three home runs and 18 RBIs.
In Division IV, Danville’s Cole Delaughder was a second-team All-Ohio pick as an outfielder. The senior batted .420 with 28 RBIs and four homers. He swiped 11 bases and scored 20 runs.
