Barbara Marie Fair, 90, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Mount Vernon. She was born on February 1, 1934 in Tiffin to the late Edmund and Mary (Blaes) Szablewski.

Barbara worked for the former Harts Department Store in Columbus. She was a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. Barbara loved to read, play cards, jig saw puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Annette (Scott) Sells of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Tayce, Hannah (Nicholas), Nicole (David) and Edward; great grandchildren, Wayne, Zerilda, Duane and Cyrus; a brother, Ralph (Teresa) Szablewski of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; son, Ronald; sisters, Phyllis Sturdevant, Martha Lewis and Charlotte Schumm; and brothers, Charles, Robert, Louis and Edmund Jr. Szablewski.

The family will have a memorial Mass for Barbara at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Father P.J. Brandimarti as the Celebrant. A small luncheon will follow the Mass and the inurnment at Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
